Homeopathy

What is Homeopathy?

In 1976 a German doctor Samuel Hahnemann discovered a different approach to the cure of sick which is called Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a system of medicine which is safe, gentle and effective, using dilute remedies to stimulate your body’s ability to heal itself.

Remedies are prescribed after a detailed consultation.

Homeopathy recognises that all symptoms reflect a state of imbalance within the individual, and treats the “person with the disease” rather than ONLY actual disease.

Homeopathic medicine do not cause side effects and you will not become addicted to them

Because the treatment is gentle, it is particularly suitable for all even elderly people, babies, and children and for women in pregnancy and childbirth.

What can be treated?

An imbalance within body can be expressed in many ways – on the physical, mental or emotional levels.

Do contact me to discuss your particular symptoms.

What will homeopath need to know?

In order to find right remedy for you, your homeopath will need to know you as an individual. Detailed understanding about your present & past environment, in all areas viz. family, society & work.

What happens in the consultation?

In order to find exactly the right remedy, I will need to know a lot about you. At the first consultation I will ask a number of detailed questions about your symptoms and how you experience them. I will also ask about your medical history and your family’s medical history.

I also need to know about your emotional nature relationship with family members, friends and associations.
Any information you can get before the first appointment will be very helpful in the consultation.

You can fill in HISTORY FORMS and submit in advance.

I will also ask about your likes and dislikes and how you react to different environments, as these contribute to the unique picture of who you are.
The first appointment will normally last about an hour. Anything you say will be treated in strictest confidence.

Treatment

Homeopathic remedies are given as tablets, powder or occasionally in liquid form, which should be allowed to dissolve in your mouth. Nothing else should be put in mouth for 15 minutes before or after taking medicines not even water.

Tablets can be crushed to give to babies and small children.

The length of treatment will vary depending on the patient. Long-standing complaints may take longer to respond than acute episodes. Follow-up appointments are usually made at 3-4 week intervals.

Homeopathic medicine treats the whole person, so you can expect to experience improvement on all levels, not just the disappearance of your initial symptoms.

What about seeing GP?

We recommend that you should maintain your relationship with your GP. Your GP will be able to arrange any tests or scan you may need. Homeopathy has an alternative philosophy but by working with GP two system of healthcare can provide complimentary services.
